3Com has brought complete freedom for the business customers who mostly move around the office in their jobs. The cell phone maker has just announced the release of its SIP-based Wi-Fi phone.

Dubbed as 3Com 3108, the latest launch is meant for the business workers. Briefly speaking, it uses Session Initiation Protocol. In other words, it is not for the Skype users. The 3108 device performs VoIP communication on a wireless LAN (802.11b/g) infrastructure.

The built-in features of the device would lure the workers in education, government, healthcare and retail sectors. Generally, these workers are away from their desks to perform their duties.

By using the latest 3Com device, they can not only keep touch with their co-workers, relatives and friends but also divert their calls to other employees, listen to voicemail and send email and enjoy other such incredible facilities.

Brian Allain, vice president and general manager of 3Com’s Data and Voice Business Unit has rightly pointed out,

In today’s interactive world, many employees are no longer spending hours tied to their desks. To be productive, employees have to be mobile to effectively engage customers, solve problems and collaborate with partners and other employees.

With this release, 3Com has geared up to give tough challenge to its rivals Cisco Systems, SpectraLink and Siemens. It is now available for $415.
