California-based Adobe Systems is entering into P2P bandwagon with its recent acquisition of Amicima, a company that develops enhanced Internet protocols for client-server and peer-to-peer networking.
US-based Amicima is famous for its amiciPhone2, a p2p supported VoIP client. It integrates presence, text messaging and file transfers with voice chat.
The two companies have announced their partnership at the CES Show 2007 in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, it did not get much coverage.
It is more or less apparent that they will be joining forces to integrate new versions of next generation media technologies leveraging VeriSign’s Kontiki P2P technology and Adobe’s Flash Video software. It means they are targeting both VoIP and Video market.
