After ensuring free weather forecasting service this month, Vonage has now added VoIP 511 services to provide its customers traffic reports of their locality. This service is more or less similar to that of E911 service.
Once subscribers dial to 511, their calls would be routed from Vonage’s network to their local 511 Advanced Traveler Information Service (ATIS).
The free service is accessible in each of the states or regions that have ATIS service. At present, there are thirty 511 systems functioning in 26 states.
Commenting on the 511 service, Vonage America’s President Michael Tribolet said,
Vonage is pleased to offer its customers the convenience of 511 dialing to speed up their commute. This is just another example of Vonage answering its customer’s needs.
