I agree with Jeff Pulver’s view at Information Society of Barbados (ISB) Conference that all telephonic communications will become IP based. The two-day conference was held at the Sherbourne Conference Centre from October 19 to 20.

There is a phenomenal growth in the adoption of VoIP. The traditional phone service providers are now putting their resources for IP services. VoIP market is growing everywhere. No doubt, it is more crowded than before. At the same time, the market has brought a plenty of options for users to select a better service provider.

Asian countries have also joined in the VoIP race. According to a study conducted by AMI Partners, the Asian VoIP market will grow by 45 percent in the next five years.

The business enterprises of the continent spend more on IP based services to bring down cable bill.

However, the major hurdle to VoIP adoption in Asia and elsewhere is insufficient broadband networks.
