AT&T has announced that it has entered into a $7.2 million, 3-year contract with the CA-based Molina Healthcare where AT&T will set up an IP Virtual Private Network that will provide the company with complete range of networked voice and data services.

Molina provides health care in six states which are:

i. California,

ii. Indiana,

iii. Michigan,

iv. New Mexico,

v. Utah and

vi. Washington.

Apart from that it runs 21 primary care clinics in Northern and Southern California.

Molina, like other health care organizations, is looking for solutions capable of providing a secure network, allowing staff to log in and access patient information other than just make phone calls; wherever they may physically be situated.

Rick Click, chief information officer of Molina Healthcare Inc. said;

We chose AT&T for its ability to present a comprehensive solution across all product lines - voice and data. AT&T provided a strong business solution that will allow our organization to consolidate our telecommunications operations and take advantage of leading-edge technologies as they become available.
Under the contract, AT&T will provide Molina with a solution that will be:

a) More cost efficient,

b) Will increase productivity, and

c) Will raise the overall level of care and service patients, network members, and providers receive.

What does this mean to Molina? Well, AT&T’s solution gives Molina latest and emerging technologies like VoIP that goes beyond the advantages of a traditional converged voice and data network by offering additional telephony features etc.

It’s a win-win situation for both AT&T and Molina.
