Just a few days ago, we discussed the factors that led UK business enterprises wary over VoIP technology. Now, an ISPphone Australasia survey claims that nine out ten SMEs in Australia lack proper understanding of VoIP technology.
They look VoIP just a money-saving tool without thinking of its various technological advantages. Most of the SMEs don’t know the difference between residential and business VoIP services.
Such a state of dismay could retard the pace of VoIP adoption in the continent for the next five years. Therefore, it is high time for the VoIP resellers to educate the SMEs on the technical aspects of IP Telephony.
Dean Levick, MD of ISPhone reseller DRL Communications said,
A lot of SMEs we talk to have heard horror stories from their colleagues about poor call quality and won’t even consider VoIP - however, this problem often relates to residential VoIP services deployed in a demanding business environment.
The survey highlights that the Australian SMEs are keen to go with VoIP technology. For them, it’s a money-saving technology. When it comes to adoption of VoIP, they are skeptical. The reason is lack of technological knowledge of VoIP.
