The Brazilian VoIP companies have come forward to found a VoIP Peering Federation to provide high quality IP services to the people.
It is the first VoIP Federation in South America and second major federation in the world. The Netherlands is the first country in the world to form a VoIP federation in 2006.
The founding members of Brazilian VoIP Peering Federation are Tellfree, iVoz.net, GlobalNova, Conceito Telecom and Easytone.
The association will be governed by XConnect, while Terremark Worldwide will offer Layer 2 private Ethernet connectivity and co-location services to the companies associated with the Federation.
The primary aim of this newly-formed Federation is to facilitate the companies to exchange VoIP traffic between their subscribers directly over the IP networks.
At the same time, the organization will also play a pivotal role for brining high quality and cost-effective IP services to the customers.
