Fazed by criticism over the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission’s last year’s ruling, the cabinet has ordered CRTC to reconsider the decision and directed for an amendment. Last year CRTC gave a ruling that did not permit major phone companies to fix up prices for Internet Phone Services. The commission has also directed the phone companies to follow the same regulation as traditional phone services. The cabinet sets 120 days of time to CRTC to reconsider its ruling.
CRTC is likely to change the decision keeping in view the interests of the mobile companies, sources close to the cabinet disclose.
