Do not be swayed by offers of cheap VoIP calls! Those who think that cheap VoIP services will bring them cheers of connecting people anytime anywhere have developed a wrong notion.
According to Secure Computing, a maker of security appliances, cheaply available VoIP numbers and net calling are giving rooms to the crooks launch new data-thieving frauds.
The security company warns that that hackers are calling the users instead of emailing them. Net callings enable the caller to hear an automated message, which warns of a problem with a bank account.
Secure Computing explains that the message includes instructions to call a phone number to solve the problems and the number connects the caller to a voice response system asking the consumer to enter their 16-digit credit card number. The offenders are likely to use up the stolen identities to start a voice-response system and get local VoIP phone numbers.
