On December 20, CommuniGate launched SIP Farm for the CommuniGate Pro Dynamic Cluster application server platform. This technology will enable large-scale deployments of SIP VoIP.

According to CommuniGate, the SIP Farm technology can host millions of subscribers with either a consolidated cluster or distributed geographic placement of cluster members with an impressive 99.999% uptime.

This substantially takes care of the growing challenges that providers are facing as IP-based communication services are rapidly displacing traditional phone communications like meeting the sharp increase in high demands for service.

Thom O’Connor, CommuniGate Director of Product Architecture says;

The biggest VoIP implementation providing direct connections to both the IP and switched networks is probably Vonage. Many telecoms provide service to 30 to 50 million customers, so there’s a big gap between what exists and what’s needed for VoIP infrastructure
Currently, Vonage, the largest SIP-based VoIP service provider, claims to have about 1 million customers.
