GloPhone, which was taken as an alternative to Vonage lost its presence in the VoIP market this month.

When I was confirmed the demise of GloPhone from an Om Malik post, immediately visited their site and found these plain words,

In 2003, GloPhone.com confirmed the Internet’s power to connect people worlds apart with Voice Over Internet Protocol. Unfortunately, after 4 amazing years, GloPhone.com has closed its doors on March 13, 2007.We remember getting hounded by their PR firm, but always remained skeptical of their chances.

Until now, GloPhone soft phone was providing free phone and conferencing calling services to the users through its Glo2Go application.

Last month, we have reported here the sudden demise of FuturePhone, also a free player in the VoIP market. With these shocking developments around the Voice world, shall we put the question; is there any prospect of free VoIP?
