
DirecTV, a cent percent subsidiary of DirecTV Group will very soon provide Satellite VoIP service to its customers in USA. For which, it has joined its resources with Hicks Holding and Vistula Communication, a New York based provider of hosted VoIP.
With this announcement, DirecTV has emerged as the first satellite player to provide triple play of Voice, Internet access and pay TV services.
DirecPath, a joint venture of Hicks and DirecTV Group, would offer the triple play service. It is now testing the waters with a bundled offering of television programming, broadband voice, data and security offerings.
Vistula Communications, a New York-based supplier of hosted VoIP would provide Voice services on behalf of DirecTV.
