Finally, UK-based electronics retailer Dixons has dumped up much hyped Freetalk VoIP services in less than a year of its launch.
Dixons took the decision to stop selling of Freetalk VoIP services in its shops following Vonage’s partnership with Freetalk.
However, the market analysts are surprised at this development considering the high sounded comment from Simon Turner, managing director of DSG international plc at the time of its launch last September.
He said,
This is the most significant development in the telephone market since the launch of the mobile phone and will transform the way we use phones. The days of old style fixed-line phone calls are numbered.
DSG international plc is the parent company of Dixons, which is to shut down the Freetalk shop next month.
Now, the customers of Freetalk would transfer their service and phone numbers to Vonage. Vonage assures upcoming customers to provide cost effective services like Freetalk. Ultimately, Vonage will make money out of it.
