In its latest report, the research firm Juniper Research predicts a strong growth in the selling of dual-mode VoIP handsets crossing $82 billion mark by end of 2012.

The dual-mode phones that provide both normal telephony service as well as VoIP services will find its hot selling in North American Market.

According to Juniper Research, North American will lead the dual-mode mobile phone market sharing nearly $35 billion revenue. While EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) market will account $23bn and Asia Pacific with $21bn worth of sales.

However, the single-mode VoIP phone market will not grow like dual-mode phone market. The revenue from single-mode VoIP market will touch just $1.5 billion in 2012, the report adds. The reason is increase in the price of single-mode VoIP phones.

The author Juniper Research says,

The handset market is moving to a stage where no one wants to carry two or three devices in their pocket, so the ability to have a single device for all calls is a compelling proposition.
