It was supposed to be 900 percent growth of VoIP in google search year by year. Like Jeff, we used to predict such an exaggerated growth rate for VoIP in Google search, at least for the year 2006.
However, the Google Trend shows VoIP is down by 12 percent in google search during the year 2006.
The word VoIP had 2.3 million hits in January, 2004. The number of hits increased to 17.7 million in January, 2005. In January 2006, the number of hits was recorded 172 million. The recent google trend says there are only 151 million hits for the word ‘VoIP’ in Google search.

Now after most of the markets are deregulated and the rates per minutes is down there is much less illegal VoiP traffic
