
An Australian based trailblazer, Internode, and a leading provider of VoIP application software, BroadSoft, Inc. has launched NodePhone2, Internode’s second generation VoIP service based on BroadSoft’s BroadWork VoIP application platform.
The NodePhone2 delivers high-quality and two-way broadband service to residential and business customers throughout Australia. NodePhone2 enables customers to receive high-quality calls from the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). Additionally, it also allows customers to make outbound VoIP calls to the PSTN and other NodePhone customers. The second generation VoIP service, NodePhone2 offers comprehensive service, which includes features like voicemail, speed dial, caller ID, and a Web portal. Even users can access itemized billing information and call history. The service is available both as an individual services, which combines voice and broadband services. While Internode’s original outbound-only VoIP calling service, NodePhone1 would be remain available as a separate service. The company is planning to develop range of NodePhone services. The company is using Acme Packet, a BroadSoft Premier Access Solutions partner for session border controllers for NodePhone2.

The cost of NodePhone2 is $10 per month for existing Internode customers with no included calls. The company is offering 18-cent unlimited calls to any standard fixed telephone service in Australia. If users are calling to Australian mobile users, then they have to pay 30 cents per minute.
According to Simon Hackett, Managing Director of Internode, BroadWorks gives clear path to add more VoIp services and its functionality enables company to offer featured rich services with high-quality and reliability at reasonable price.
