In order to improve the efficiency of organizations and productivity of end users ShoreTel is introducing a number of IP Telephony enhance enhancements. This is also expected to bring down the cost of ownership of ShoreTel IPT products. The company has introduced the latest version of its software, the first SIP based IP phone and has also added a small footprint IP PBX hardware.

ShoreTel 7 has an escalation notification feature which enables administrators to create mandatory response process for incoming calls. There is a new user productivity function in the Personal Call Manager desktop client which offers a dial out wizard based approach for transferring calls. With its Personal Call Manager feature there are nine different tool bars with twenty four programmed buttons which improves the functionality of even a simple phone. The mobility feature enables the system to automatically find an individual without having to select any option or define customer ring tones. Coming on to the hardware aspect two new switches have been added which offer granular options for handsets supported by the ShoreTel switch family.
