O1 Communications, a provider of next-generation telecommunication services in Sacramento, is deploying the Lucent’s integrated switching platform to migrate its network to an IMS-ready softswitch-based IP network for advanced voice services. The O1 communication adds the VoIP features and offers services in California.



The Lucent Compact Switch is a carrier-class solution with fault-tolerant hardware and software. It delivers all voice and data services, which extends the inputs and outputs, switching fabric and processing of the system. The switch will support approximately 1,000 to 100,000 subscribers.



The Lucent’s solution will allow O1 to deliver tandem switching and advanced next-generation VoIP services in California. Lucent Worldwide Services is providing integration, installation and engineering services.



The Lucent switch can also serve as a building block to carriers to migrate an IP Multimedia Subsystem network to offer blended lifestyle services.



The service providers can install the Lucent switch for end-office and tendem applications.



The Compact Switch is offering VoIP, off-load and gateway mobile switching center features and CALEA and E911 capabilities.
