
Oracle Corporation has announced that it will acquire MetaSolv Software for $219m, a company statement clarified this week.
It would be a major acquisition for Oracle; the acquisition would build a better platform for the database company to get into the crowded telecommunication market.
MetaSolv designs standards-based software for next generation communication services such as IMS, VoIP, IPTV, IP VPN, Broadband and mobile services. It makes VoIP deployments easier.
Commenting on the acquisition, Oracle’s Vice President and General Mangaer of the communications global business unit, Bhaskar Gorti said,
By adding a leading OSS application suite, Oracle plans to offer a fully integrated, end-to-end productized solution that will help service providers streamline the ‘campaign to cash’ process, optimize asset life-cycles and accelerate time-to-market of new products and services.
