Paragon Wireless has announced the availability of its Hipi 2200, a SIP-based Windows Dual mode phone. It is the first of this kind in the world, which supports GSM/GPRS handset.

Developed in line with company’s VoWLAN/GSM dual-mode voice technology, the latest device adds the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system to enhance the usability and functionality of the handset among the business enterprises.

The company explains the versatile device provides not only a seamless transition between cellular and 802.11g networks, but also between the WLAN’s access points.

The 2200 handset consists of a 1.9in, 176 x 220 display screen, two mega pixel camera and a 1100mAh battery. It has four hours’ talk time and hundred hours’ standby with both GSM and WLAN active.

Besides these features, the device has equipped with the basic Windows Mobile 5.0 features like media playback, push email, web browsing and Office compatibility.
