What could be the major thumb for VoIP than this one? The Pentagon, a symbol of the US military has geared up to embrace VoIP technology as part of the effort to build a strong communication network.
For this purpose, the Defense Department has awarded General Dynamics Network Systems a contract worth $18.4 million to design and install VoIP for DOD’s Renovation and Construction program office.
General Dynamics IT, which has supported major IT projects of US government explains the present VoIP deployment is build a strong networking for Pentagon by ensuring call processing support, multiple classes of service, priority service, required adjunct and back-office components.
The VoIP system will provide integrated voice, video and data communications over unclassified and classified DOD networks.
