Like Rebtel, Raketuls Raketu is on its way to shake up Skype in the VoIP market by offering Skype-like services to the customers. It has launched a new VoIP client to provide information and entertainment services.
Based on Peer-to-Peer(P2P)Technology, Raketu’s communication services includes dialout calling (rakOut) to landline phones as well as mobile phones, Instant Messaging (supporting Raketu, Yahoo!, MSN, AOL, ICQ, Google and Skype), SMS-text messaging and file transfers and sharing. These services are similar to that of Skype.
While, the entertainment services includes like news, sports, weather, stock feeds and an advanced internet and travel searching facility. Raketu also supports click-to-call, click-to-im, click-to-sms, global online presence, and enhanced social networking features.
Raketu’s Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technology is unique in many ways. It ensures the highest quality of VoIP calling and the highest-call-completion without the security issues associated with supernodes and other traditional P2P technologies. In contrast to other P2P communications providers, Raketu does not use your computer for other users’ communications.
A company statement indicates that more exciting services are planned for the coming months when Raketu will launch inbound calling, advanced voice mail, large conferencing and more.
