No more, free services for the Skype users! The eBay-owned Skype has ended its free-calls promotion and inducted an unlimited calling plan for annual fee, the New York Times reports.

From January 1 onwards, the users need to subscribe Skype services for $30 to make unlimited calls to landlines or mobile phones within USA and Canada using Skype software.

This announcement eventually ends the free-calls promotion offer that was launched in May to enable Skype users of USA and Canada to make unlimited calls.

As said earlier, the online auction giant eBay has purchased the Skype for $2.5 billion with great expectation that it would make huge profit by ensuring inexpensive VoIP and video services to its buyers and sellers.

Recently, eBay has added a number of categories for Skype service to boost its online shopping. The company claims the introduction new unlimited calling offer for annual fee is meant for the expansion of Skype’s product offerings and revenue.
