Skype has started offering free calls from within China in collaboration with Chinagate.
Chinagate is the world’s largest overseas Chinese community portal, has announced an agreement that will enable Chinagate members to connect with overseas friends and relatives for free using Skype’s VoIP services.
The new offering will be made available through the new co-branded Web site skype.chinagate.com.
Now that’s a some news indeed. Given China’s attitude that bans services such as VoIP (as it did before), this is rather a scoop for Skype.
Didn’t I tell you before that forget the intense competition in America, Skype will surely don’t lie idle in its march to stay ahead in the VoIP game and it is looking at Asia like a hawk ready to grab it’s piece of the market meat as and when regulations ease up.
