After forming a global community with nearly 171 million subscribers for its P2P VoIP, eBay-owned Skype is now looking forward to collect money from these users. For which, it has added a new feature, Skype Prime in the latest 3.1 beta for windows.
In fact, the Skype Prime provides paid Skype-to-Skype voice and video calls services. With Skype Prime, the provider and recipient of the service can deal with voice and video calls with a variety of instant payment terms, either one-time or per-minute fees as decided by the two parties before accessing Skype service.
The terms and conditions say,
Skype shall collect fees from Users. Service Provider shall be entitled for a service fee for the provision of the Service (the ‘Service Fee’) as a percentage of Gross Adjusted Revenue. Skype reserves the right to change the Service Fee with a 30 days notice by email.
As per the Skype Prime system, the service recipient is charged by having their Skype call credit account debited and the provider receives credit, ultimately into their PayPal account. Per-minute fees vary from $0.50 to $2.50 and one-off fees from $0.50 to $12.
