China may ban Skype despite the service’s huge popularity. But that is not stopping the upstart from pushing newer deals in the region.
Skype need not fear. The Internet champs, Google and Yahoo already have had scrapes with the Chinese Government and they have moved on by making compromises. But these tend to be grey areas and users suffer. In China they may also go to jail. It will be interesting to see what compromises does Skype resort to in Asia, especially in China.
What I am looking for: Will it allow the governments to monitor Internet Calls? I will keep you posted.
