Last month, Skype has publicly announced that it is going for a major reshuffling before the Christmas discarding some of the bigwigs, transferring others, and bringing no change in the position of few country heads, I posted here.
Finally, it has happened. Alex Kazim will step down as Skype president in January next year to return eBay. He had associated with eBay, Skype’s parent for almost eight years. He joined Skype when eBay acquired it 14 months ago.
Henry Gomez who is currently holding the chief marketing officer and country operations director post at Skype will take over the president role. He will act as a key advisor to Skype’s CEO Niklas Zennstrom.
Visionary Gomez had also served eBay for seven years. He joined Skype as general manger for North America in November last year.
The change in guard took place barley a few days after the Skype’s induction of annual fee plan to replace the free calling promotion. Does it mean that change in business strategy forced Skype to bring change in business department?
