Skype is going to introduce SkypePro service, under which users will have to get free national calls to landlines. It is an optional service. Its cost is €2 a month.
Besides announcing this, Skype has explained more details of its pricing structure. It is now charging a small connection fee for all SkypeOut calls. The connection charge comes around €0.039 for all calls to landlines.
However, the US customers who have registered for Skype Unlimited plan and Talk for Britain Plan in England are exempted from connection fee.
Meanwhile, Skype has brought down its worldwide dialing rates to €0.017 per minute to Hungary, Israel, Guam, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Puerto Rico, Czech Republic,Alaska and Hawaii.
From the new pricing structure, picture is clear that Skype wants to function as a true competitive venture.
