A new development platform, called Sandgate III-P is now available for handheld IP phones and mobile devices. Sophia Systems Co Ltd has launched the Sandgate 3-P development kit for IP phone based on the new Marvell PXA310 microcontroller running at 624MHz.
The Sandgate 3-P PXA310 hardware is specifically optimized for handheld OS standards like Microsoft Windows Embedded CE 6.0, Windows Mobile 6 and Linux, including the Qtopia Phone Edition. Based on the Sophia’s high-level language debugger, WATCHPOINT and built with the cooperation of number of software/middleware makers and parts manufacturers, the development platform will allow engineer to simultaneously develop hardware and software.
The Sandgate 3-P PXA310 offers a wide range of debugging capabilities on the PC like program loading to Flash ROM, program execution and break, view changes for each memory register, bus trace and view changes for emulation memory.
In co-operation with telecommunication software vendors engaged in state-of-the-art development, the Sandgate III-P will make it easier for embedded development engineers to add telecommunication functions to their final product offerings. The other silent features of the Sandgate are:
1. It works as wireless LAN IEEE 802.1b/g
2. IrDA
3. Bluetooth
4. 1.3-Mpixel CMOS sensor
5. 2.2-inch LCD, 3-axis acceleration sensor
6. Geomagnetic sensors
7. WillcomW’s SIM, a PHS module
The Watchpoint debugger is running on a host PC and it is connected to the EJ-Debug unit with advanced functions like source level debugging, branch trace reconstruction and access to specific functions of the PXA built-in register sets via a special window.
