The rumor is that Sprint will own the beleaguered Vonage, whose fate hangs in balance following the debacle in the patent battle against Verizon Communication.
Both the companies are sitting on April 24 for a deal. Interestingly, the Federal court will give its verdict on the same day whether Vonage’s temporary stay in the Verizon patent case will become permanent.
The report of Vonage-Sprint bonhomie first appeared in the Light Reading, which quoted Vonage’s Chief Legal Officer Sharon O’Leary as saying,
I feel very strongly we’ll be able to enter into a business arrangement or agreement to resolve that matter.
Suppose Sprint acquires Vonage, no doubt it can support Vonage’s 2.4 million VOIP subscribers with its wireless and broadband services. But, the question here arises, how much Sprint will pay for the acquisition?

Sounds like the countdown timer to Vonage’s demise finally hit zero. Lets hope Sprint keeps a remnant of the Vonage’s cheap long distance pricing.
