Converged Voice service is the order of the day. Now, all most all countries are keen to combine mobile, fixed-line and Internet in one. Denmark is among those countries, which is going to access this kind of VoIP service very soon.
TeliaSonera has taken a remarkable step in this direction. The company is introducing its latest voice solution that brings together the mobile communications and wireless broadband.
The company claims that it is the first commercial service based on global UMA (Unlicensed Mobile Access) standard that empowers a handheld mobile phone to make VoIP calls over a home’s WiFi and broadband connections. Therefore, it is named ‘Home Free’, which the Danish families will access from November.
Jesper Broekner, head of TeliaSonera in Denmark said on the new launch,
We are introducing a product that combines the best of three worlds: mobile, fixed-line and Internet. Danish families will now be able to cancel their fixed line subscriptions at home without losing their home phone numbers, and at the same time save more than 20 percent on their phone bill.
The start of mobile VoIP in Denmark is the foundation stone in the introduction of telecommunications solutions of the future in the market, the company added.
