True Internet, a unit of Thai group True Corp Plc is going to launch low cost VoIP service for phone users in Thailand.

The company will offer call service from PC to telephone.


The service will VoIP technology which will allow cheap calls from PC to PC or Pc to telephone in anywhere in the world through Internet.



The National Telecommunications Commission has granted the license to provide Internet service including with VoIP to True Internet. Still NTC has to allow Internet licensee to offer phone-to-phone VoIP service.



Sky Office, another True subsidiary is planning to spend approximately Bt300 million, once it receives license, which is already approved by the NTC, operate both an international Internet gateway and a domestic Internet exchange. True has capitalized Sky Office by Bt1 million.



Sky Office is using Bt300 million in building its own networks and lease others from carriers to provide services.



IIG is serving as a channel for local Internet service providers to connect or exchange traffic with global Internet networks. The local ISPs is exchanging the domestic routes traffic.



Sky Office is making first phase of 3 Gigabits per second of international Internet bandwidth.



True Internet is occupying about 3.2Gbps out of total of 5Gbps available for all ISPs from CAT.



True Internet has about 400,000 broadband Internet subscribers, representing around 80 per cent of the market, and expects to add 100,000 by year-end.
