US-based VoIP service provider Verizon has extended a comprehensive licensing agreement with GN Netcom, the manufacturer of handsfree communications products. The agreement brings the two leading telecom giants to develop broadband headsets for the US market.

The Verizon-branded headsets will facilitate online gaming and IP telephony. At the same time, these headsets weight the capabilities of Verizon’s networks including high-speed DSL and the latest fiber-optic network.

The advanced fiber-optic network ensures enriched voice, data and video services at very high speeds. GN Netcom will play a pioneering role in the deal. It will produce, ship and provide technical and customers support for the broadband headsets.

Andrea Fant-Hobbs, VP brand management at Verizon comments on the new agreement,

The headsets are the perfect complement to our services, including online gaming, music, video and other entertainment services. Our relationship with GN Netcom directly supports our commitment to provide our customers richer, deeper, broader communications experiences.

Undeniably, the deal will enable the Verizon to come up with innovative headsets to hit the American market. These headsets are hands-free, convenient and excellent sound quality.
