America’s largest VoIP service provider Verizon Communication has released its third quarter result this week. The result brings mixed reaction for the VoIP giant.

The company made a small profit (nearly $2 billion) in the third quarter because of growth in the net wireless customers. The net wireless subscribers that Verizon added during the quarter are 1.9 billion.

The net income of Verizon during Q3 is $1.92 billion up from 1.87 billion in the year-ago third quarter. The company’s revenue has increased by 26 percent to $23.25 billion from $18.49 billion.

The rise in profit and revenue can be attributed to the wireless growth and acquisition of long-distance carrier MCI earlier this year.

Verizon has also added some 448,000 net high-speed Internet connections, which include digital subscriber lines (DSL) and FiOS.

However, Verizon seems to be distributed due to increase in the operative expenses, which shows 29 percent rise to touch $19.3 billion.
