In an effort to bring flexibility in the communication networks of its contact centers, Victoria Electricity, a state licensed electricity and gas retailer of Victoria has upgraded its communication set up with Nortel IP-PABX.

Victoria electricity has now replaced its contact centre communication network with Nortel solutions that support existing digital handsets and provides an upgrade path to VoIP, reports Computerworld.

With the help of Optus, the state licensed electricity retailer has deployed Nortel IP-PABX, Nortel’s contact centre management and reporting software and digital handsets for staff and about 150 contact centre workers.

With this major deployment, Victory Electricity has now full flexibility in the communications set up to enable the organization for a national expansion.

The updated communication network solutions features Nortel Communications Server 1000 that supports 280 Nortel digital handsets, Nortel’s Contact Center 6 Portfolio including Contact Center Management for call routing and data analysis, Contact Centre Administration for Web-based management, Communication Control Toolkit for application development and CallPilot Messaging.
