Idar Vollvik, the billionaire founder of Norwegian VoIP firm Chess/Sense (that was purchased by purchased by TeliaSonera this year), bought a pair of English soccer megastar David Beckham’s boots for 85,600 pounds which is about USD 147,600.
Vollvik bought the boots sold by a charitable concern, Norske Kvinners Sanitetsforening, in a Norwegian TV show
Norske Kvinners Sanitetsforening ran an auction to buy tents for the thousands of Pakistanis who were left homeless following the devastating earthquake in October this year.
This is very refreshing news indeed. The world needs more people like Idar.
