VoIP telephone selling has shown a tremendous growth in the second quarter of 2006. According to the Dell’Oro Group report, it is $500 million, which is 42 percent more than the previous quarter.
The report finds that IP Telephone market has got an overwhelming respond in the second quarter of the current year. It says that IP telephone sales have touch to $500 million during the Q2, which is 42percent more than the previous quarter.
The IP manufacturer Cisco has dominated the market in the second quarter with selling more than one million IP phones. As we know, IP phones are sold in combination with IP PBXs. Therefore, the VoIP phone selling has its direct impact on the IP PBX market. Cisco has jumped two places in the total PBX market.
In the report, Steve Raab, Director of IP Telephony Research at Dell’Oro Group says,
IP Telephony is currently driving PBX market sales as a result of enterprises increasingly adopting Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and retiring their traditional PBX systems.
