Vonage’s celebration over Federal appeals court ruling that eventually liberated the company from the control of state regulation, has suddenly immersed with US District Judge is all set to restrain the VoIP player from using IP telephone technologies of Verizon Communication Inc,.
The US District Judge of Alexandria, Va., Claude Hilton has announced that the court will issue a permanent injunction sought by Verizon which would bar Vonage using the VoIP technologies. Hilton will sign the order in two weeks.
If it happens, the million of Vonage customers are likely to face regular disruptions in VoIP services.
Assuring the customers, Vonage CEO, Mike Snyder made a strong comment,
We are confident Vonage customers will not experience service interruptions or other changes as a result of this litigation. Our fight is far from over.
Meanwhile, the Friday decision has put an adverse affect on Vonage share in the New York Stock Exchange. Vonage’s stock experienced all-time low of $3, down $1.05, or 26 percent.
